Citation Tools from Databases

In most databases, you can use the citation tools by clicking on cite.

APA General Guidelines

Adding a running head in Microsoft

1. In the "insert" tab, double click in the header area at the top of the document

2.  In the Header & Footer Tools "Design" tab, uncheck the box Different First Page to Include a page header (also known as the “running head”) at the top of every page.

3. Then type "TITLE OF YOUR PAPER" in the header flush left using all capital letters. It cannot exceed 50 characters including spacing and punctuation.

REMEMBER: the header is a shortened version of your paper's title.

1. In the "insert" tab, double click in the Page Number area at the top of the document

2. From the drop-down menu, choose the location and style. Insert page numbers at the top of the page and flush right.
